Cozumel Island offers the largest reef system in Mesoamerica. It was considered by Jacques Cousteau to be one of the most astonishing underwater wonders in the world. The “Palancar” reef was named during his exploration visit in 1961. Cozumel features more than 25 dive sites that now make up the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, which never ceases to amaze and inspire awe in both local and visiting divers. Regardless of your skill level in this extreme sport, Cozumel’s reefs will always show you their best side—with multicolored corals, tropical fish, sea turtles, and more.
